Finally made some beads!!

Happily, I got my torch up and running again last night and made a couple
of beads. I even listed 4 of them on eBay this morning!

I had so much fun! It's amazing what a short time away does for the creative juices!
A little later today, I will sit down again and play! Woo Hoo!!!

......And a happy new year.

Well, we had a lovely Christmas here.... a classic New England Christmas.
Home for Christmas Eve, Morning brunch and presents with my Mom,
and a trip up to Vermont to see more family late Christmas day,
and overnight at the Norwich Inn. We came home to a blessedly un-ravaged house.
We were worried, because even though our kittens are grown up in size, they are
far from grown up in temperament... Luke decided he loved climbing the
Christmas tree, and hiding in the branches! Oh Dear!

Vermont was beautiful, as usual, and we got to visit our favorite general store,
Dan & Whit's in Norwich.
The best general store on the face of the planet.

Where their motto is:

And it's absolutly true :)

Dan & Whit's is a national treasure...it's not fancy, it's not neat (not by a LONG shot) it's not trendy.
It's got Carhart's, Feed, Sushi and ammo...... thermal underwear, toys, wine and maple sugar candy...
smoked salmon, finish nails, bait and batteries....
You get the idea. And to top it all off, it's magical!...
it's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.... REALLY!

Another national treasure is the Norwich Inn which is right next door to Dan & Whit's..

The Welcoming front porch...

And their poor moose! Oh!! The Indignity!!

May you all have a glorious New Year!!!!

Strike that!...Reverse it!

ok... well after careful consideration, and an outrageous heating oil bill....(sigh)
I've decided to postpone my lovely vacation a while longer.
Life just gets in the way sometimes, doesn't it?
That's ok...it's not like I have to waitress or something, right?
Back to the torch, and auction listings...
Still counting my blessings....

I've decided to take a vacation.

I've been steadily teaching and selling beads for 2 years now, and
I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately. I'm not going to stop
making beads by any means, but I am going to take a break from selling them, and
since I have until Feb. until I teach again, I've decided to spend the next
month "playing" on the torch, and experimenting, and tickling my muse.
 :)

Hopefully at the end of that time, I will have lots of new things to show,
and I'll have more techniques to share durring the new season of
classes.

I'll be writing regularly in my blog, and sharing work  I'm excited about,
but the business side of my world needs a resting period.

I'd also like to work on doing a regular web-based tutorial (perhaps monthly?)
and I'd love some feedback on any ideas for that project.
What would you like to see for a tutorial?
You can post comments here on my blog.

Talk to you soon!
