Florida Glass Dragons !!!

I'm home finally from all of my travels this month, and it's been so much fun.
A special "Thank You" to Jill and her DH for sharing their beautiful house with us
at Florida Glass Dragon's Fall Festival.

I was bummed when I got home to find that most of my pictures didn't come out for some reason.
They were VERY blurry... but a couple survived and I've shared them here.

Jill's home is so beautiful.... it looks out over a lake and is very quiet.

Ah... Paradise!
Here's a banana tree with it's bloom......so cool!

And an amazing skull in her garden.... Georgia O'Keefe would be pleased:

and last but not least, the only person shot that wasn't blurry....
a few of the Dragon's hangin' out :)

American Beadmaker...

My take on American Gothic by Grant Wood.
I've decided to make it the front page image on my website.

New Directions....

I always enjoy being home after a trip, because I generally have some new ideas that have simmered for a few days and it's fun to come home and try them out. I've been thinking about this bead for a while, and it came out of the kiln intact this morning, which was a blessing. Not quite sure what to call this series yet, but I definately want to make some more.

Have a great day!!

Thank You Edmonton...

It has been a wonderful trip. My students were fantastic, and Kathy, the owner of Bedrock Supply is such a sweetheart! If you ever have a chance to come to Edmonton, you have to visit Bedrock...it's an amazing store, with everything you could possibly want for beadwork, beadmaking, stonework, and silversmithing...it's HUGE!!
There is also an amazing bead museum with some of the most stunning examples of contemporary beads and sculpture I've ever seen.

This picture is just one corner of the shop... there's more behind that wall with the strands of beads hanging from it... you can buy everything here.... soapstone anyone?

Or picks for gold-digging???

Thanks so much everyone!!! You're the BEST!!!

And here are a few more random shots of Edmonton............... The Legislature Building....

And an interior image of City Hall....
